We are still buzzing from the Lutheran Care Gala Dinner at Adelaide Oval on Saturday 30 October, and in total awe of our guests’ generosity.
So fortunate to be able to celebrate together again after having to call off our 2020 event due to COVID-19, the enthusiastic crowd partied like it was 1999, enjoying live music from Adelaide party band All About Her, a delicious three-course menu from award-winning chef Philip Pope, and silent and live auctions throughout the evening.
The total raised in support of our Emergency Relief fund at the event was more than $200,000, which was absolutely incredible and well beyond our expectations.
This included an astonishing 60 people who put up their hands to say they would each pledge $1000 to support a family fleeing domestic violence; $60k in one hit. This will have a huge impact on people’s lives.
We cannot thank you all enough.
Also thanks of course to our major sponsor Intract who helped make this happen. To all our sponsors for their generous support, to every business or individual who donated an auction item, to MC Brenton Ragless who did a fantastic job, to Michael O’Brien for his amazing Welcome to Country (we think he should do a comedy show at The Fringe!), to our skilled auctioneer Phil Harris from Harris Real Estate and our volunteer helpers on the night. Thank you.
Our heartfelt thanks also to Jade, our client from the Barossa, who bravely shared her story of how she and her children were able to escape domestic violence and how support from Lutheran Care can help change lives.
Thanks to everyone who got involved in the fund raising activities on the night and every single one of the 630 people who purchased a ticket and came along.
We hope you enjoyed the evening as much as we did.
