Financial Capability Worker

We have an exciting opportunity for two Financial Capability Workers to join Lutheran Care’s Money Hub Services team in Alice Springs, NT.

Reporting to the Team Leader, Financial Services NT, you will be responsible for supporting people to make informed choices about their financial position, build longer-term capabilities through budgeting, and support clients manage their money.

Whilst the position is based in our Alice Springs office, outreach services are a key aspect of our Money Hub service and therefore extensive travel, including some overnight stays in a range of accommodation is necessary.  Driving a 4WD vehicle over large distances is required and therefore driver training will be provided.

The aims and objectives of these roles include:

  • Travel by 4WD to remote communities to provide support for individuals in building their financial capability.
  • Provide one on one financial capability support and education to clients.
  • Provide non-accredited group activity workshops on financial capability to resource and equip participants with money management skills.
  • Provide Emergency Relief services for clients who present in crisis.
  • Provide an early intervention and prevention service through appropriate referrals and by linking clients to other services such as Financial Counselling, family support services, counselling, etc.
  • Work with the team to create networks with various Indigenous communities and be involved in local partnerships and networks with relevant agencies, financial services and local organisations.
