Foster Care Case Worker – Outreach

Our Foster Care Service (FCS) is designed to provide family-based foster care services in the SA Metropolitan North, South, West, and East, the Adelaide Hills, the Barossa and the Murray/Mallee regions.

We have an outstanding opportunity for a passionate and dynamic Foster Care Case Worker – Outreach to join our Foster Care Services team, providing intensive support to a caseload of Specialist Care households in a caretaking capacity during times of worker absence or vacancy. In this role, you will carry a floating caseload for specialist and also assist when needed in the general support teams.

While this position is primarily office based, travel for regular home visits with foster carers and to other locations for intra and interagency meetings will be required.

In this role, your objectives will be to:

  • Manage a case load of carer households in a caretaking (temporary) capacity during times of staff absence or position vacancy.
  • Maintain regular contact via phone, e-mail, video conferencing and home visits as per agency and contractual guidelines
  • Assist the placement co-ordinators with the process of matching and placement of children with approved foster carers as required.
  • Liaise with DCP and other members of the care team to ensure the needs of children in care are met.
  • Provide input into case planning with DCP, members of the care team and foster carers.
