Recruitment & Retention Coordinator

Lutheran Care provides community services in South Australia and Northern Territory through a range of programs. We support communities through responding to the needs of individuals and families, community development, learning opportunities, accommodation and disability support. Current programs include emergency relief, financial counselling, family support and education, foster care, homelessness and housing and, NDIS disability services.

We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Recruitment and Retention Coordinator to join our Foster Care Services. Reporting to the Engagement Coordinator– Foster Care Services, and working closely with the Family Engagement Worker, the Recruitment and Retention Coordinator will be responsible for developing and implementing recruitment and retention strategies that attract foster carer applicants and retain foster carers across the service regions.

You will be a passionate and experienced communications / marketing extraordinaire. You have a heart for families and children, and the skillset to connect with people, lead and shape compelling marketing and engagement strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in conjunction with leadership, foster carers, foster care services staff, Lutheran Care Communications team and Department for Child Protection to ensure a coordinated approach to recruitment and retention of foster carers
  • Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies that attract foster carer applicants and retain foster carers across the service regions
  • Engage the use of multimedia platforms to connect with new demographic pools
  • Plan and execute meaningful events for prospective carers and for our established carer community
  • Research best practice recruitment and retention strategies
  • Work in collaboration with stakeholders to meet recruitment standards and targets
  • Respond appropriately to all foster care enquiries, providing timely and clear information and assistance

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a NDIS Workers Screening Check, a DHS Working With Children Check, a National Police clearance as well as a current Safe Environments for Children & Young People certificate (we can help you access these). You must hold a current and unrestricted South Australian Drivers License and possess a registered roadworthy vehicle available for work use (employees reimbursed for work travel). In addition, the successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or a medical exemption.
