Volunteer Coordinator

Lutheran Care provides community services in South Australia and Northern Territory through a range of programs. We support communities through responding to the needs of individuals and families, community development, learning opportunities, accommodation and disability support. Current programs include emergency relief, financial counselling, family support and education, foster care, homelessness and housing and, NDIS disability services.
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Volunteer Coordinator to develop and maintain an effective and engaged volunteer program at Lutheran Care (LC). This entails coordinating and supporting program volunteer coordinators & volunteers, as well as establishing and implementing volunteer resources, policies and procedures.

As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a vital role in connecting individuals with meaningful volunteer opportunities that align with their interests and skills. The role focuses on elevating the prominence of volunteering, attracting and recruiting suitable individuals, providing training, and ensuring a positive volunteering experience. The role also directs and enhances the Lutheran Care Volunteers Program to align with organisational values and strategy, fostering a meaningful client experience through volunteer contributions.
You will be a natural connector with exceptional networking and relationship-building skills coupled with a passion for community service and a genuine desire to make a positive impact.
You will think out of the box to attract and recruit volunteers and have an ability to match volunteers’ skills and interests with suitable programs and roles. An excellent communicator, you will also be proficient in leveraging social media platforms and online resources for volunteer recruitment.
In this role, you will:
- Manage the administration function of our Volunteer program, including recruitment, induction, promotion, education, volunteer database management and coordinating and hosting numerous volunteer events throughout the year.
- Provide volunteer coordination to Retail Operations.
- Liaise with program Volunteer Coordinators.
- Build the profile of volunteering at Lutheran Care.
- Provide volunteer governance and resources, including coordinating and delivering training opportunities for volunteers to ensure they have the skills to provide quality support to Lutheran Care.

The Australian Taxation Office (ATO) allows Public Benevolent Institutions (PBI), such as Lutheran Care, to offer special tax concessions. Through salary packaging, these concessions allow an employee to increase their take-home pay.

The successful applicant will be required to undergo a NDIS Workers Screening Check, a DHS Working With Children Check, a National Police clearance as well as a current Safe Environments for Children & Young People certificate (we can help you access these). You must hold a current and unrestricted South Australian Drivers License and possess a registered roadworthy vehicle available for work use (employees reimbursed for work travel). In addition, the successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccination or a medical exemption.
