Get involved in Wear Your Winter Woollies and support South Australians doing it tough this winter!

Each winter, South Australian charity and community services organisation Lutheran Care invites supporters to wear their winter woollies at work, school or out and about doing whatever they’re doing!

Have fun dressing up in your favourite flannelette PJs, trusty beanie in your team colours, scarves, ‘Oodies’, onesies, woollen jumpers, ugg boots, slippers, or whatever keeps you warm.

In return, participants are encouraged to donate to Lutheran Care through either:

• a financial donation to the Winter Appeal
• long-life food or pantry items for Lutheran Care’s Emergency Relief program
• warm, good quality clothing to support someone in need.

Wear Your Winter Woollies is a fun way to highlight the growing need in our community and get involved in Lutheran Care’s work.

Getting involved is simple:

• Register your interest with Lutheran Care by emailing communications@lutherancare.org.au so we can send promotional materials for your social media, pin-up board or newsletter.
• Pick a day during winter (1 June – 31 August) to participate.
• Promote your event within your community.
• Wear your Winter Woollies on the day — and don’t forget to share your photos with Lutheran Care!
• Collate financial donations, and send them to us online via Lutheran Care’s website (donations of $2 and over are tax deductible), or via direct deposit*: BSB: 325185 | Account: 03815186 | Account Name: Lutheran Care
• Bring physical donations to Lutheran Care at 307 Prospect Road, Blair Athol. Alternatively, to arrange delivery to your nearest Lutheran Care site, or to request collection of larger quantities of donations, please call 08 8269 9333. While we can’t guarantee pick up in all areas, we’ll do our best to assist where possible.

Previous participants in Wear Your Winter Woollies have included the Lutheran Church of Australia SA & NT District Office team; St John’s Lutheran School in Eudunda; Concordia College (all three campuses); Faith Lutheran College, Tanunda;  St Mark’s Lutheran Church in Mount Barker; staff from Lutheran Education SA, NT & WA; and the teams at Elcies Thrift Stores, amongst others.
