The Defence Family Support Program is a new service for Australian Defence services families living in the Northern Territory.
Through greater connection to local community spaces, services and social opportunities, the program aims to combat loneliness or isolation experienced by Defence families living away from their usual support network of family, friends and community.
The service will offer programs and activities for Defence families and personnel that aim to foster social connection, build family resilience and increase community participation.
The program will also work closely with existing organisations supporting Defence families and personnel, providing referral pathways into appropriate specialist services for those experiencing distress, relationship challenges and/or complex circumstances.
