Lutheran Care would like to thank our generous supporters who donated to our 2023 Winter Appeal, making it one of the most successful appeals for the organisation in its history.
With a total of $185,731 raised so far, these much-needed funds have helped our staff and volunteers support a large number of families and individuals experiencing hardship this winter.
It is the most successful appeal for Lutheran Care in recent years, second to a record-breaking $198,000 Winter Appeal in 2019.
With more people in our local communities struggling right now, these donations could not have come at a better time. As the cost of living and housing crisis continues, the number of Australian households doing it tough has soared this year. The most vulnerable people in our communities have been hardest hit and these donations are helping Lutheran Care to work with them to build a better and brighter future.
“Thank you to each and every person who generously donated to our recent Winter Appeal,” Lutheran Care Chief Executive Officer Rohan Feegrade said.
“Because of you, we have raised an incredible $185,000, which is critical in meeting the needs of a growing number of families and people accessing our underfunded services, such as our Emergency Relief program.
“Through this program, your donation helps to fill our free food pantry, and supply clothing and bedding, as well as supermarket and transport vouchers.”
Mr Feegrade added that while winter has now finished, Lutheran Care is still taking donations.
“There are many families that continue to need our help, so please consider giving what you can. Every dollar truly makes a difference,” Mr Feegrade says.

In other news, Lutheran Care’s next major fundraiser is the organisation’s 2023 Gala Dinner, which will be held at the iconic Adelaide Oval on Friday, November 10.
This will be a fantastic night out and includes a superb three-course meal, premium wines, live entertainment and the opportunity to support South Australians in crisis.
