Adelaide Hills residents who love a good chat or feel they’d benefit from a bit more social interaction have a new fortnightly opportunity to explore what’s on offer in their region.

Michelle Busto from Lutheran Care’s Community Connections Program will be hosting new drop-in sessions at Stirling’s Coventry Library café every second Tuesday from 1pm-4pm. Hills locals and visitors alike are warmly invited to stop by, say hello, and find out more—no appointment needed.

The first drop-in session will be held on Tuesday, 5 August, during Loneliness Awareness Week, with fortnightly sessions continuing after that.

The Community Connections program delivers short-term tailored support to help people at risk of isolation to identify and overcome challenges, set and achieve goals and improve their wellbeing through better links with the community in which they live.

The team can provide information and guidance, practical help, and referrals to agencies, groups, and training and volunteering opportunities, to help people increase their confidence, explore their interests and increase their participation in their community.

 Michelle is excited to connect with people, learn what makes them tick, and explore how she can support individuals in building stronger community connections.

“We want to have conversations around what residents would like to see in the community, and what connection looks like for them,” Michelle says.

“Come and say hi! We would love to understand what the community needs, so we can drive community development opportunities with community.

“Community voice is so valuable.”

 Community Connections is funded by the State Government’s Department of Human Services.
