Tanunda Open Day to celebrate Lutheran Care’s relocation and expansion in the Barossa

Lutheran Care’s Barossa Valley team is hosting an Open Day next month to celebrate the relocation of its office to Tanunda and expansion of services in the region.

Taking place on Wednesday, March 13, from 11am to 2pm, the event will give the community the opportunity to take a tour of our new office, meet the local team and find out more about our services.

Lutheran Care Operations Manager, Family & Community Services, Helen Walker said the team was looking forward to welcoming many local supporters and stakeholders on the day, which will also feature a coffee van and a barbecue lunch.

“We are settling into our new space here in Tanunda and we would love to take this opportunity to open our doors to the community to come and have a look and meet our teams,” Helen said.

“We feel extremely thankful for the support we have received in the move from our previous location at Nuriootpa to Tanunda.”

The move to the hub of the main street positions Lutheran Care and the team to further expand our reach to support more people, while also providing better access to complimentary services for our clients.

“Tucked away at the rear of Murray Street, our new location gives us the benefit of being centrally located and close to other services, while also providing privacy of entry for those who prefer this access,” Ms Walker said.

“Our address has changed, but it continues to be a place where compassion, care and support are at the heart of everything we do.”

Rohan Feegrade, Lutheran Care Chief Executive Officer said, “in recent years, there has been a growing demand for our programs in the Barossa and our local team has grown to address this need. Due to this expansion, we had outgrown the office space on Second Street in Nuriootpa, which had been our home for almost 20 years.

“The Barossa team are residents in the community, so they understand the nuances of the region and challenges faced by the community.

“Lutheran Care’s services have played an integral role in offering support to people and families in the Barossa Valley and it is important we place our service locations to meet people where they are.”

The Tanunda Open Day will commence with a welcome ceremony and will be followed by a blessing of the building. A chance to network with other attendees will also be provided.

Lutheran Care’s new location is based in the centre of Tanunda at Shop 7/8, 109-111 Murray Street. The relocation also brings our services closer to Lutheran Care’s Elcies Tanunda Op Shop, which is only a short distance away on Murray Street.

All Barossa services can be accessed from the new office, with the exception of the Children’s Contact Service, which remains operating at Gersch House in Nuriootpa.

Lutheran Care provides support in the Barossa through programs including Emergency Relief, Financial Wellbeing, Family and Relationship Counselling, Community Connections, Children’s Contact Service and the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme.
